One of America’s Best Cities Dubbed Illinois’ Cheapest Day Trip Destination
Something that is considered the best is also cheap? Get out of here.
Usually, you pay a premium for the best, but when it comes to a quick day trip this summer, this destination won't cost you an arm and a leg.
Well, the gas will cost you big, but when you reach the destination, not so much.
On a list of the 50 Cheapest Day Trips to Take Across the US by Lifehacker, they say Naperville is the spot in Illinois.
Located less than an hour outside of Chicago, Naperville is a wonderful option for eschewing the bustle of the big city in lieu of a low-key afternoon. You can take a free stroll through their sculpture gardens, or come in on a Thursday and you can catch a free concert from the Naperville Municipal Band in Central Park. Stop by in early September and you’ll be able to catch the Naperville Independent Film Festival.
All of that sounds excellent, especially when you consider Naperville is called one of the best places to live in America.
Niche ranked Naperville the third best city to live in America, and with A grades in public schools, housing, diversity, and whether or not the town is good for families, it makes total sense that it would also be considered a fantastic spot for a day trip.
Could you see yourself in Naperville at some point this summer? Personally, yes. I'm just afraid I might not want to leave though.
