Casey’s Pub in Loves Park To be Sold and Owners Explain Why
One of Loves Park's most successful bars will change owners, and it's partly because Illinois isn't the best for operating a business.
Nick Fosberg has been a driving force in Casey's Pub's success over the past decade as the business' owner, and even further back as manager. This is why Fosberg's announcement wasn't an easy one to make. As of August 3, 2020, Nick and his wife Michele will no longer be the owners of Casey's. The reason? They will be expanding the Fozzy's brand (their other bar) to Spring Hill, Tennessee. Why? They want to work in more business-friendly states.
Illinois is not a friendly state when it comes to business or taxes. I've learned a lot about this state since covid hit. So we are Looking for better opportunities / retirement.
Another name associated with Casey's Pub for a number of years in Rodney, and he's not going anywhere else, per se.
Rodney and I had a LONG talk before deciding to sell and is one of the main reasons for making this decision easier for me. Rodney too wants to move to the Nashville area and partner up, become an owner and open another Fozzy's location.
Rodney will assume the role of GM at Fozzy's (6246 E Riverside Blvd. in Loves Park) to get him ready to run the next Fozzy's location in the next few years. And, as you could probably guess, Fosberg and the crew are planning on two big farewell parties to thank Casey's patrons for their years of support.
Rodney is going to host his last bartending shift party at Casey's Pub on Wed, July 29th from 6-CL. On Friday July 31st we will be hosting our farewell party with The Gilligans - this will be mine and MIchele's "Thank You" party to all our friends, family, loyal customers for supporting us all these years!
