What a proud moment for Chicago and every other fan of the Windy City. If you're thinking of making a move to Chicago, read this first.

It appears that the world's most disgusting vermin love Chicago more than New York. That, or New Yorkers are so used to rats in their apartments that they just don't complain about it anymore. Here's how Chicago earned the title of 'Rat Capital', according to fox32chicago.com. An apartment search service called Rent Hop compiled rat complaint data from the 4 biggest cities in the U.S. and it turns out the Chicago renters have just about enough of these f***ing rats. In 2017 alone, there were 51,000 rat-related complaints in Chicago. That is an enormous rise in complaints. in 2014, there were just shy of 2,000.

The truth is, as the city grows, so does the garbage. More apartment buildings, more restaurants... more rats.

In case you were wondering, the areas of Chicago with the most rat-related complaints were, Logan Square, Englewood and West Ridge.
