As an adult, if someone asked you if a woman could do Santa's job your response would probably be "heck yeah she could." Of course she could. Women are strong. You need strength to carry the sack full of toys. Women are better multi-taskers, a skill that's obviously needed in order to manage the workshop, take care of the reindeer and keep the Elves on schedule with toy making. With that being said, Santa needs to be organized- obviously, women are much better at that! The one are where we might be lacking is timeliness- men always joke that we're late for things because we're too busy getting ready for things, which is fair...so maybe toys might arrive a little late in England.

Which would be fine with female Santa, because it seems a majority of British children don't think a woman can do Santa's job.

I don't want to make this about feminism or sexism, I just thought it was a pretty valid question, one that you can have fun with at the dinner table with your kids. Some valid issues were highlighted there, but you also have to take in consideration that kids generally aren't good at considering hypotheticals. So to them Santa is, and always has been male. It's like asking if a man could be the Fairy Godmother, or the Tooth Fairy, distinctly women characters.
