Cute New J-Lo Rom-Com Makes Illinois Airport Scene Mistake

There won't be much of a spoiler alert here nor will too much plot be revealed, but there is an error in a new movie recently released to theaters and a streaming platform.

The movie is Marry Me, starring Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson.

IMDB describes the romantic comedy like this,

Music superstars Kat Valdez and Bastian are getting married before a global audience of fans. But when Kat learns, seconds before her vows, that Bastian has been unfaithful, she decides to marry Charlie, a stranger in the crowd, instead.

Rotten Tomatoes gave it a "meh" rating of 59%.

Marry Me's silly storyline is heavy on the "something old" and "something borrowed," but the movie's well-matched leads make it easy to say "I do."

The film, which is available exclusively on Peacock Network, isn't awful. It's watchable, entertaining, and cute but it also a one-time event for me.

Another Case of Not Knowing Illinois

Why is it nobody outside of Illinois understands the geographical locations of some of the major cities? Do folks who live in surrounding states on the border of Illinois have an idea or is the Land of Lincoln just completely unknown to outsiders?

Not Chicago

For once, this movie mistake doesn't involve Chicago but the flub is pretty substantial when it comes to distance in Illinois.

Again, no real spoiler.

In one of the scenes, there is an urgent flight from New York to Peoria. There are noticeable airport signs outside that read "Champaign", indicating it is an airport in Champaign, Illinois.

I'm no geographical expert but it's at least an hour and a half between Champaign and Peoria. Also, Peoria has its own airport J-Lo could have flown in to.

Looks like they flew Jenny to the wrong block.
