It's hard to believe that a pet owner needs to be reminded of this but here it is.

With the recent extremely high temperatures in the Rockford area, heres you reminder to not leave them in a hot car. Since April, Winnebago County Animal Services has gotten over 30 calls about animals being left in cars, according to wrex.com.

If you need a bigger reminder, here it is. If you are caught leaving your animal in a hot car, you could be put in jail for up to a year and pay a fine of $25,000.

It's also not good to leave your animals outside for too long in these extremely high temps. Make sure they're not outside for too long and make sure they have plenty of water.
