Wow, I wish I was this talented.  Growing up, I never really found a hidden talent of mine and I always hoped I'd turn out to be a secretly amazing artist.  Nope.

I always envied this girl I went to middle and high school with because she could literally close her eyes and draw anything you asked her to.  From full-size portraits to detailed cartoon characters, she could do it ALL.  It takes a special type of person to really grasp the concept of art and there are people all around us who have unlocked that ability.

Amelia's entire 3rd grade class individually entered a 'Doodle For Google' contest for the state of Illinois.  Students could draw whatever their hearts desired with materials of their choosing and describe the meaning of their artwork.  If they met the criteria of artistic metric, creativity, and theme communication they were good to go!

The theme of this year's contest? "Use your imagination to create a Google Doodle based on what self care means to you."
