All products on this list meet the Environmental Protection Agency’s criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

There are so many trusted products on store shelves that we're using to clean our homes. While many are very effective at ridding our homes of germs, there are still many that do not have the power to kill the virus that has dramatically changed our lives in the last six months.

For some peace of mind, the EPA has a lengthy, continuously updated list, of cleaning products that meet the criteria for use agains the virus that causes COVID-19. Products on this are not 'endorsed' by the EPA. Additional disinfectants may meet the criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, and that's why the EPA updates this list with additional products as needed.

There are a couple ways to use this list from the EPA, you can either look for what product(s) you should buy, or look up the ones you already have at home. Disinfectants have an EPA registration number on the label and this list allows you to enter that number to check if it meets the criteria.

You will see many recognizable brand names like Pine-Sol, Clorox, Lysol, but you'll also see many you don't recognize, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Maybe you've noticed that a lot of stores don't currently have the brands we're used to seeing, so this list list is helpful in deciding which of the 'unknown' brands are effective.
