Escaped Kangaroo Captured After 3 Days on the Run in Wisconsin
A 16-month-old kangaroo named Chesney turned a quiet town into a full-blown session mission after escaping from a zoo in Wisconsin.
Sunshine Farm in Necedah shared that the escape happened after stray dogs rushed the enclosure and spooked Chesney the kangaroo. From there, it was nothing but up! Chesney hopped the 8-foot fence keeping him securely inside the zoo, made a quick escape, and stayed within about a 3-mile radius of the zoo. Somehow, he managed to keep people guessing where he went the entire time.

Volunteers, friends, and even a drone team jumped in to help track him down. They used heat-seeking drones to locate him, and his keeper, Debbie Marland, said she was getting nearly 37,000 steps a day trying to find him. They had a few close calls, but Chesney decided to jump into a cold river to get away from everyone. Smart man!
Another time, searchers had him surrounded under a tree, and he still managed to hop off running at speeds up to 20 miles per hour. By the third day, the moment finally came: searchers were about to call it quits when Chesney casually reappeared. Ge was drawn in by his favorite treats and familiar scents. Thankfully, Chesney was recaptured, safe back at the Wisconsin zoo, and probably grounded for life.

To whoever built that 8-foot fence, I wonder if they knew kangaroos can jump, on average, 10 feet... comfortably. Someone needs to reconfigure those fences if they're trying to prevent Chesney from escaping again!
