A new type of dog shelter just opened in Missouri and we think it would be a great idea everywhere.

Shep's Place Senior Dog Sanctuary just opened in Independence, Missouri. The sanctuary is basically a retirement home for adult dogs nobody wanted to adopt. The heart of a volunteer is how this place came to be.

According to newschannel20.com, founder Russell Clothier came up with the idea after he started volunteering at shelters and saw elderly dogs never finding a new home. He decided the dogs need to be spending their "golden days in retirement."
