Why did this even exist in the first place?

Facebook messaging is basically a blend of your AIM account from the early 2000s and text messaging.

It's great when you need to send a co-worker a link, it's terrible when you see that someone saw the message and isn't responding.

But... there's one thing in your messages that's absolutely annoying and you might not have even known it existed.

It's the "other" section of your messages. This is an area on your Facebook page where people you don't know can send you messages, and Facebook is finally getting rid of it.

You can find these "other" messages if you click into your messages on your profile and look where it says "inbox," then click just to the right. If you're a girl, there's a chance this section is filled with creepy dudes you've never met.

That "other" message section is going away, which is great because you can't even access it on your phone anyway. Plus, who needs creepy stranger messages?
