According to Illinois Officials, the winning ticket was sold for the January 4th evening draw of Lucky Day Lotto, a daily draw game that gives players two chances to win every single day.  What makes this win stand out even more is how the ticket was purchased!

The lucky Lottery player won online through the Illinois Lottery App, which makes it so much more convenient to play your favorite lottery games without stepping foot into a store.  Personally, I use it and love the app games!

Lucky Day Lotto is drawn twice daily in Illinois, with players tasked with matching five numbers to capture the jackpot.  The top prize starts at $150,000 and grows until someone hits all five numbers, which is exactly what happened during Saturday's evening draw.  The identity of the winner has not been released, but what impeccable timing to start the new year!

Each ticket costs $1, making it one of the more appealing games offered by Illinois Lottery.  In addition to the $1 million jackpot, Lucky Day Lotto offers other tiers, too.

Win $1 by matching two numbers, $15 by matching three numbers, or $200 by matching all four numbers.  As with all the Illinois Lottery games, winners have up to one year from the draw date to claim their prize.
