Ford Recalling 1.4 Million Cars Over Steering Wheel Detachment Issues
A major safety recall is underway after Ford announced steering wheels of some of their cars are coming loose and actually falling off while driving.
CNBC says Ford "knows of two crashes and one injury allegedly related to the problem."
The recalled models are the Lincoln MKZ and Ford Fusion between the years of 2014-2018.
The automaker says "potentially loose steering wheel bolts that could result in a steering wheel detaching from the steering column," is the reason for the safety recall Ford said in a statement that was reported on by USA Today.
Nearly 1.4 million cars are affected by the recall, most of which are in the U.S. with the remainder being in Mexico and Canada per Wall Street Journal.
