From Principal To Role Model: Belvidere Teacher’s Impactful Journey
Meet 97ZOK's inspiring new Teacher of the Week from Immanuel Lutheran School in Belvidere. He's well-known for his commitment to creating a positive and engaging environment.
97ZOK Teacher of the Week
Congratulations to Randy Rogers from Immanuel Lutheran School in Belvidere, Illinois.
Randy was nominated by one of his students, Josie Morrall, she writes,
Mr. Rogers is very fun. He makes us laugh whenever possible. He makes social studies my favorite class of the day. He looks up the national days and sometimes brings in stuff for them. He teaches about events that happened that day in history, which helps us learn and remember them more easily.
He also teaches 8th grade gym which is my second favorite class. Even though he’s principal he makes sure our classes are fun. He sets out time for us even though he has many jobs to do that are way more important. He even plays volleyball and gaga ball with us at recess. He sets examples by running every day which teaches us to keep going and never give up even if that means running in the airport in Australia. I’m glad out of all the schools he’s been to, he came to mine.
As Teacher of the Week, Randy was surprised with a cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes and money to spend at WM Day Spa Salon.
There is so much more to this teacher — a fact I learned during my conversation with Randy. FUN FACT: He's #1 in the state of Illinois… wait until you hear why. The audio of our chat is below.
