Get Ready to Make Some Waves at Chicago’s First Mermaid 5K

Look at this race, isn't it neat? Wouldn't this make your race season complete? Wouldn't  you think you're a girl, a girl who's ran everything?

You've got Nikes and Asics and Brooks shoes, tank tops and sports bras galore. Race medals? You've got 20; but who cares? No big deal. You want more.

You wanna be where the mermaids are, you wanna see, wanna see them running. Running around on those, what do you call them? Oh feet.

Up where they walk, up where they run, up where they play all day in the sun...wondering free, wish you could be, part of this race.

Did you just read that to the tune of "Part of That World" from The Little Mermaid? Good, I meant you too, because according to TimeOut Chicago a Mermaid 5K is coming to Chicago this fall.

It'll be held in Lincoln Park on October 1st, starting at 9 am; however they need to get 1,000 mermaids to sign up by August 31st; so you don't have a lot of time to make this happen.
