“Adulting Sucks”: Illinois Woman Shares Feelings About Turning 26
It's such a weird feeling to say I'm going to be 26. This is the age I have been dreading since I was able to drink.
Growing up, all my friends had their "Golden Birthdays" in Elementary, Middle, and High school. I always said it'd be a lifetime until I got to celebrate my Golden Birthday.
Seriously, when I was 16 I always thought, "Man, it'll feel like an eternity to reach 26."
Well, here we are. Turning 26 on June 26th. A bittersweet moment I'd say!
On the left, I was 16. On the right, that's me now. Have I aged at all?!
"Adulting Sucks": Illinois Woman Shares Feelings About Turning 26
This chapter in my life is called 'Adulting Sucks.' Why?
Because one big life change happens for me this year: I get kicked off my parents' insurance. Yup, the moment nobody hopes for - including me.
On the bright side, here are 5 things I love about turning 26.
#1: I'm entering a new chapter in life with the best group of friends
#2: I'm proud to say I've still lived my entire life in Rockford, Illinois
#3: My high school 10-year reunion is almost here...
#4: I can't wait to say "yes" to everything I'm invited to (my friends know I used to say no to everything because I was lame)
#5: The older I get, the more I realize life moves very fast. It makes me not take anything for granted anymore!
Shoutout to all the people who fill my life with so much joy + laughter. I couldn't ask for a better group of family and friends to do this next part of life with!
And to my internet best friend, Shaiy, I'm so glad you've been in my life since I was 15!
