Grab The Syrup! We Found Illinois’ Most Popular Quarantine Recipe
With much of the country under some form of stay-a-home order in April, it's safe to say we spent a lot of time cooking.
Based on a survey from bid-on-equipment.com, it looks like the entire country made Banana Bread in April.
Searches nationwide jumped from 368,000 in February to 1.5M in March to a whopping 2.7M in April.
While it's crazy to think about how and why so much banana bread was made specifically in the month of April, results for the second most popular quarantine recipe is divided in the United States.
Based on Google search volume, bid-on-equipment.com shows much of the upper midwest (Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin) all searched for Green Bean Casserole second to only banana bread.
While the other states surrounding Illinois looked for some form of chicken recipes, Illinois' most popular quarantine recipe was only shared by three other states in the country.
Of course, the recipe has to do with bread but instead of making bread, we're using a slice or two only to try and make it better.
The most popular quarantine recipe in Illinois was French Toast. California and Hawaii also share the distinction of having searched for French Toast recipes as much as we do.
What's your go-to french toast recipe? Do you use Texas Toast? Regular white bread? How many eggs? Do you add cinnamon or vanilla extract? Top it off with powdered sugar?
