The National Christmas Tree Lighting will take place on December 5, 2019 in Washington D.C., and some students from the Harlem School District will be there to witness all the beauty in person because...Harlem Middle School has been chosen to represent Illinois in this year's National Christmas Display!

Ornament designs from fifty six students across the nation were recently chosen to represent each state in the National Christmas Tree Displayand the design by Kayden Moore, a 7th grade student at Harlem Middle School, was chosen to represent Illinois in 2019.

Kayden Moore recently told mystateline.com;

I never would have imagined I could actually create an ornament for the National Christmas Tree display that represents my entire state!

It is an honor that students from our small city were chosen for this once in a lifetime event!”

Kayden and some of his other classmates at Harlem Middle School will soon be traveling to Washington D.C. to take part in the National Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 5, and we can't wait to see all the pictures!

Big congratulations to Harlem Middle School and Kayden Moore, you've certainly made  the Stateline very proud!
