This Duck In Durand Can’t Walk Without Our Help
Snuggles the duck is a new resident at Hoo Haven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center in Durand. Due to a birth defect in his left leg, Snuggles cannot walk without the help of a tiny wheelchair, and Hoo Haven is hoping to take the duck's rehabilitation even further. This is where you and I come in.
According to the Rockford Register Star, Snuggles arrived at Hoo Haven in Durand a little over two weeks ago after being dropped off by a good Samaritan who found the duck living in very horrible conditions. To say Snuggles had a rough start in life is an understatement. Despite suffering from a debilitating birth defect and a home that did not properly take care of him, Snuggles is quite loving and has a real zest for life. This is why Hoo Haven has decided to do everything they can to provide Snuggles with the life he deserves, instead of just euthanizing him.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to get Snuggles a prosthetic leg which will allow him to walk for the very first time in his life. My heart immediately melted when I read Snuggles the Duck's story, and I think it will melt yours too. We're rooting for you, Snuggles!
