Illinois City Makes Top 100 List For ‘Most Obese Cities’ In America
With the insane amount of fast food joints popping up every freakin' day around the country, it's definitely not surprising why this list was curated.
I'm probably one of the most unhealthiest people ever. I don't workout, I love sitting on my couch every chance I get, my diet is all over the place, and water is not really part of my liquid intake. If you thought you were the only one, join the club!
According to WalletHub, they found 100 of the fattiest cities in America... and yes, Illinois made the list.
The good thing? Illinois didn't rank #1!!!! Unfortunately, McAllen, Texas did.
So how did other cities rank? Knoxville, Tennessee ranked #3 (OUCH!), Lafayette, Louisiana ranked #12, and Toledo, Ohio ranked #34. There are also 3 categories WalletHub used to help identify these cities:
Food & Fitness
Our data set ranges from the share of physically inactive adults to projected obesity rates by 2030 to healthy-food access.
Health Consequences
Unfortunately, the extra pounds have inflated the costs of obesity-related medical treatment.
Obesity & Overweight
Americans are some of the most overweight people in the world, not just stereotypically but statistically too.
So, which Illinois city made the list for one of the most obese cities in America? Well, I can tell you it's actually pretty far down on the list which makes it... somewhat better.
Naperville, Illinois ranked #80 out of the 100 cities.
You probably aren't surprised. I know I'm not - Illinois is always on some type of weird list and it's just expected at this point haha.
Do you think other cities in Illinois deserve to be on the list? I think other Illinois cities are more worthy of Naperville's spot, but that's just me!
