A city known for being one of Illinois' best for families gets some national attention in the season of Halloween. The 4th best place to live in the US was just ranked the safest place for trick-or-treaters.

Just one year ago, Livability published a list of best places to live by scoring cities in the following categories:

  • Amenities
  • Economy
  • Demographics
  • Housing
  • Social and Civic Capital
  • Education
  • Health Care
  • Transportation and Infrastructure
  • Remote Readiness

The researchers also answered these questions about all 2,300 places considered:

  • Why should someone want to live here?
  • What are the ways in which each of these cities is creating an environment that is accommodating for remote workers?
  • Where can you spend a Saturday afternoon or meet your friends for happy hour after a long day?
  • How is this city different from other places?
