Illinois Picks Its Favorite Fall Drink Flavor — Here’s What Won
Pumpkin spice may be popular, but this fall drink flavor is Illinois’ top pick this season.

In the Midwest, we have so many apple orchards and opportunities to get apple cider everything, so you'd think that apple would be our favorite flavor in Illinois. Well, you thought wrong.
Personally, I love anything caramel. It can be a candy bar, ice cream, syrup, pretty much anything with caramel in it satisfies my sweet tooth cravings! Apparently, a lot of Illinois residents think the same!

According to a survey, Illinois' true favorite fall drink isn't pumpkin spice, it's caramel.
There's something about that rich, buttery sweetness that feels cozy and perfect for sweater weather. It's especially good in lattes or blended in frappes! If you've never tried it in hot chocolate, you're actually missing out on one of the best concoctions out there. Think about it: caramel apples are basically a Midwest staple once fall rolls around (I can vouch, I just got one at the apple orchard!). You can't tell me you walk through a pumpkin patch or all festival and don't pick up something with caramel in it.
Not surprising that we chose caramel, but I really thought we'd go with the standard pumpkin spice with how basic we are sometimes!
