Who says you need to spend a ton of money to get a good tasting bottle of wine?

Illinois residents agree with that statement because ALDI shoppers, for the second year in a row, prefer a bottle of wine that costs less than $3.

Nearly 200,000 people voted in ALDI's "Fan Favorites" survey, and while the shelves at the Sweet Lenny household are stocked with other featured favorites like Happy Farms String Cheese and Savoritz Parmesan Crisps, there's one thing we seem to never run out of, Winking Owl wine.

According to Snooth.com, Winking Owl offers five different varietals of wine including Zinfandel, Syrah, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot.

One reviewer said "Best bang for your buck Merlot goes down real smooth served it tonite. Everyone enjoyed it and they only paid $6 per glass lol."

Charging people $6 a glass for a $3 bottle of wine is some highway robbery, but if it gets the job done, hey, good for you.

Regardless, if you have champagne tastes but live on a beer budget, you can replace the beer with wine, as long as its Winking Owl.

There are three ALDI locations in Rockford, 2680 20th Street, 3831 Auburn Street, and 5350 East State Street.
