No, I'm not talking about your run-of-the-mill ketchup on a hot dog situation either.

For some Illinois folks, this is even more egregious and dastardly.

Chicco USA took a look at America's Favorite Unique Food Combinations and discovered Illinois isn't alone in its love for this mismatched delicacy.

While Chicken & Waffles, Chocolate & Popcorn, Eggs & Ketchup, Salt & Watermelon, and French Fries & Milkshakes all got attention from at least one state in America, this one stood out as Illinois' fave:

PINEAPPLE ON PIZZA

Of all the combinations uncovered by this survey, pineapple on pizza is the most controversial. Heated online debates have been dedicated to this topic for years, and you can still hear friend groups arguing over it in pizza shops across the country. Now, the states have spoken: 18 states listed pineapple on pizza as their favorite unique food combination.

If you're looking for a good pineapple pizza in Illinois, maybe check out Craft Pizza. Victoria M. says her favorite was "the pizza with ham and pineapple. Just the right amount of savory with sweet."

Another good option might be Pequod's Pizza. Pierre P. says they tried a pineapple, spinach, and Italian Beef pizza and "loved it" and "cannot wait to go back...and try it again."
