Illinois Football Fans React to Ref ‘Hip Checking’ Chicago Bears Player on Purpose
The Chicago Bears did a great job losing the game last night, and even had a little help. The undisciplined Matt Nagy squad had 15 flags last night, totaling over 100 yards in penalties. That is some sloppy, 7th grade football crap right there. If there was a game where Coach Nagy sealed his fate, last night was it. Actually...pick a game, it's all been one giant sh** show.
But what happened with this "taunting" call? Yes the refs are cleaning up the game this year, I'm all for it. Even though "we" the fans enjoy the showmanship of the NFL game, some taunting can lead to fights or serious injuries. O.k. but this taunting flag...
#59 Marsh gets a sack, does this Karate Kid thing...that's fine. It wasn't directed at Big Ben or at one individual. It was silly, but it's his thing. But as Marsh was running past the ref, behind the ref...this happened. Watch the ref turn INTO #59. Yes he hip checked the player! in real time in slow motion, this was the ref HITTING THE PLAYER!!!
This brought out the flag. Not the Karate Kid move, the "running into the ref" that didn't happen. You have got to be kidding me. The ref stuck his hip out and bumped the player, when have you seen that before?
This was an obvious move by the ref. I'm not being a crying Bears fan, they screwed that game up all by themselves.
Hopefully the outcome of this game is a ref that gets in trouble and a head coach that gets shown the door.
