Illinois Waterpark Makes Massive Change Parents Are Going to Love
If the thought of setting foot in a freezing body of water Memorial Day weekend isn’t your idea of a good time, what if the water was actually kind of warm?
Decently heated water isn't something you see at many waterparks, but honestly, in the Midwest, it’s a phenomenal idea. Even better when the largest one in the state says they’re doing something about freezing cold water days before they open for the season.
Raging Waves in Yorkville announced they’re opening this Memorial Day weekend on Saturday, May 23, and there’s a huge change they’re touting: temperature-controlled water.
That means the wave pool and lazy river at Raging Waves are now heated.

They’re also opening with a big theme, “Salute to Heroes,” and will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the opening weekend.
It can be a bit pricey at Raging Waves, but with temperature-controlled water at the biggest waterpark in Illinois, it’s worth the price of admission, right? Tickets start at $55.

Raging Waves will be open through September 7. Plenty of time for you to make your way over to Yorkville to try it for yourself.
Personally, I’ve never been, but this might be the year for me and the fam. Have you been to Raging Waves before? As a Rockford guy, I feel bad even talking about another waterpark, so it pains me to ask, is Raging Waves the best waterpark in Illinois?
