Illinois Market Is Looking For Buskers, Anyone Else Confused By This??
Market season is here. I know it's not the official kickoff to summer but let's just say it is. When markets start popping up in Illinois there are a large number of people who crave shopping, the food, the ice-cold drinks, and the music.
The outdoor version of Rockford City Market, in Rockford, Illinois, is officially underway. What makes the weekly event great is the pavilion that covers many of the vendors, providing a place to chill if it's a little rainy. Even when it rains, true City Market supports tough it off under the pavilion, nearby awning, or they make their way into nearby businesses for a little shopping. They don't usually pack up their things and leave.
Rockford (Outdoor) City Market is always on the hunt for new vendors to participate in the popular weekly Friday afternoon/evening event. You can learn more about being a vendor here.
Aside from the food, shopping, and beer, amongst the crowd, you'll find music. Under the actual pavilion, you'll find a full band, but keep your ears open because there's other music for guests to enjoy.

During the first week of 2022 Rockford (Outdoor) City, there was a woman with a guitar performing in front of the fountains alongside Water Street.
(If anyone knows who she is, please let me know so we can give her a plug in this article.)
Had it not been for a social media post I would have no clue this type of musician had a technical name.
Busker: a person who performs music or other entertainment in the street or another public place for monetary donations. (Oxford Dictionary)
