If you're tired of the same old, same old when it comes to fast food, there's a place a few hours from Rockford that will do just fine.

Actually more than fine, think "historic."

Normally, that word doesn't come up when talking about fast food, but in this case, MSN says there is one place in Illinois that makes food so legendary it deserves the title.

MSN says Hackney's in Glenview is Illinois' Most Historic Fast Food Joint.

Less than two hours from Rockford, Hackney's is located at 1241 Harms Road in Glenview.

Apparently, the big draw besides the Hackneyburger is their fried onion loaf.

Those in the know pay extra for a fried onion loaf – a great tangled brick of oil-glistening, fried sweet Spanish onions with a devilish crunch.

Hackney's was also profiled on Diner's Drive-ins and Dives so if you're into trying the same places Guy Fieri has been, that's just another reason to go.

Rated three and a half stars on Yelp, the reviews say Hackney's is "a wonderful little restaurant" and the "food was cooked to perfection and drinks well poured."

Other Yelp reviews say the "prices are high" and the "service has gotten so awful" at Hackney's, customers have stopped going.

What do you think? Have you ever made the trip from Rockford to Glenview to try Hackney's? Is it worth it?
