No IL Native Has Won More Super Bowl Rings Than This NFL Player

The Super Bowl is right around the corner, and since the Chicago Bears aren't playing in the game, I figured I'd try to find someone with at least some small ties to the Windy City.

This NFL Lineman Holds The Record For Most Super Bowls Rings Won by an Illinois Native

Not that Washington Commanders Guard Nick Allegretti is from Chicago, Frankfort specifically, but he at least does have one distinction.

Allegretti, a former University of Illinois graduate, holds the record for most Super Bowls won/rings received for a Prarie State native.

A former seventh-round pick, the Lincoln-Way East High School star was taken 216th overall by the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL draft.

How Many Super Bowl Rings Has Nick Allegretti Won?

If you've watched professional football, you know the Chiefs' dominant run. Allegretti was on the team when they won the Super Bowl in his rookie season, again during his third season, and just this past year, when he was in his fourth campaign.

Early in 2024, after the season was over and Allegretti had won his third Super Bowl ring, making him the most decorated Super Bowl-winning athlete in state history, he signed a three-year deal worth $16 million with the Washington Commanders.

Maybe it's no surprise the Commanders were one game away from playing in this year's Super Bowl.

Either Allegretti has a knack for winning, aligns with winning clubs, or is just darn lucky. I have a feeling he'll pick up another one or two before it's all over.
