I think it's safe to say that it takes talent to paint anything. To paint a scene while actually being on a street corner is another thing entirely, but that's what an artist in Illinois did recently when he painted a bakery.

I wish I knew the name of the artist who shares videos on the Liquidmethod YouTube channel. Here's how he described this time-lapse of his most recent creation:

Urban plein air painting on Davis St. in Evanston, Illinois. You can smell the donuts from down the street!

The end result that this guy achieves is sweet and the process he shows to get there is interesting.

I had to Google plein air painting to see what it is. Artists Networks says this is "about leaving the four walls of your studio behind and experiencing painting and drawing in the landscape". Got it.

Don't know about you, but I've always been a wanna-be artist. If you've ever seen the ads for "can you draw this turtle" or "can you draw this pirate" and tried it, then you and I have something in common. The fact that this man can paint on a street corner with every possible distraction is a tribute to his talent. I can't do it, but wish I could. Appreciate him sharing his process with the rest of us.
