Illinois’ Tastiest Burger & Fries Combo Is Close To Rockford

A burger by itself can be delicious but when you team it up with a set of mouthwatering fries, that's the ultimate meal.

So while there are places in Illinois that do incredible burgers, like Au Cheval in Chicago and of course, 15th and Chris and Buddy's Burgers in Rockford, there's one place that apparently does the burger and fries combo better than anyone else.

Kumas' Corner is a popular burger joint. The original started in Chicago in 2005 but has since opened more locations including spots in Indianapolis and Denver. There's also a couple that popped up in the Chicago Suburbs including nearby Schaumburg.

Kuma’s Corner is a gourmet burger bar with six locations that has named all its menu items after heavy metal bands. Opt for Slayer – a 10oz (0.6lb) burger on a bed of fries, chili, caramelized onions, andouille, cherry peppers, Monterey Jack, and scallions.

It was also tabbed by Love Food as the tastiest place for a burger and fries in Illinois.

I've been to Kuma's in Schaumburg and Love Food isn't joking about how good their burgers and fries really are. I will caution you before you go to Kuma's though because it's not for everyone.

Did you see the part where Love Food mentioned Kuma's "named all its menu items after heavy metal bands?" That's not where the connection to heavy metal and Kuma's ends. Kuma's blasts heavy metal tunes inside their restaurants. If you dislike that style of music or have sensitive ears, you might want to consider getting your food to go.

Clocking in at about an hour from Rockford, Kuma's Schaumburg is at 1570 East Golf Road and open Monday and Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
