Being single around Valentine's Day is tough, but a little less so when living in one of the better states for single people.

Look, I'm not making this up. You might think Rockford isn't a great spot for single folks, but WalletHub begs to differ.

Apparently, Illinois as a whole along with Wisconsin are two of the very best states to be single in America.

WalletHub used three separate categories to put together their rankings, Dating Opportunities & Economics as well as Romance & Fun. Wisconsin came in 4th overall and Illinois followed closely behind at 6th.

Illinois would've ranked higher on the list but in Dating & Economics, the Land of Lincoln was ranked 40th. Taking annual household income, housing affordability, job growth, credit scores, and the unemployment rate of single people are a few different metrics WalletHub used to come up with a score and they ended up pushing Illinois' score down.

Are you single? Do you believe being single and living in Illinois and/or Wisconsin gives you an advantage over people who live in other states? Tell us!
