It All Started With A Walk…
I mentioned this morning that a mix of aerobic and resistance training may help diabetics control their blood sugar among lowering their weight, and cholesterol levels, but hitting the gym is great for anyone no matter their health issues.
Let's face it, working out is good for the mind, body and soul. Look at me, I was 200 pounds when I had Liam. I walked 4 to 6 miles a day and lost 80 pounds. If you saw me, I'm sure you'd be surprised that I was once that heavy. I knew that I needed to lose the weight, so I put my mind to it. Once I lost it, I was ready for a new challenge. I wanted to tone up, so I started with P90X in my basement. That workout is amazing! Within 30 days, I could see huge results and I didn't want to stop. After finishing that, I continued working out downstairs, but now I introduced myself to weights. I thought if my husband could lift, why couldn't I? Now, I have more muscle than most men, and I love it. Not just because I'm in the best shape of my life, but for the first time in my life, I'm not on medication for anxiety, and my motivation is through the roof, it hasn't always been like that. Walking 4 years ago has completely changed my life, for the better.
There's so much you can do to feel better about yourself, and honestly, a walk could be an excellent beginning for you, as it was for me. Working out benefits everyone, mind, body and soul.
