I think I started riding Six Flags St. Louis roller coasters before I could walk. That's probably not accurate, but it feels like it's true. My point is that I know roller coasters and I think the new one at Six Flags called "The Bobcat" looks like a winner.

I just saw Six Flags share this update on Facebook today mentioning this new coaster that debuts this year.

I found a ride preview video on YouTube from Amusement Insider that shows a little of what you can expect. Please tell me that there will be wooden teeth on the front of each car.

55 feet high and reaching speeds of 40 mph. Do tell me more.

Watch the preview video for more highlights on what this coaster is gonna bring to the table.

This reminds me of the Evel Knievel coaster that Six Flags St. Louis had a few years ago. Nothing quite like the tight and fast turns on a smooth wooden coaster.

From what I can discern, it appears that The Bobcat will be rideable when Six Flags Great Escape in Illinois opens for the 2024 season. This rendering will give you an idea of what the scale of the coaster will be like.

The Six Flags Great Escape website rates the thrill level of The Bobcat as "moderate" and will be rideable by anyone who's 42 inches or taller. Check out the official coaster page for more updates on the first new coaster for Great Escape in 19 years.
