Fireworks Debris Catches A Garage On Fire In Illinois Neighborhood

It's funny because fireworks are illegal in Illinois, but you would never know by driving through my neighborhood. Well, by cruising on any block. The fireworks stands are packed right across the border in Wisconsin. Every night is like the 4th of July for several weeks before and many after too. They just should make it legal in our state.

Discarded fireworks that reignited in a garbage can caused a blaze overnight in the western Joliet area, according to authorities.

Don't get me wrong, I've made plenty of trips up to Wisconsin on the 4th of July to pick up some fireworks. The main thing is it doesn't matter your age; if you're going to shoot some off, please be careful. First of all, you can get seriously injured. Plus, you can also start a fire. A family in Joliet learned that the hard way.

They were shooting off some fireworks at their home. I'm sure it was fun for the whole family. They even picked up all the debris after they were done. A good way to piss off your neighbor is to blow off firecrackers all night, and then leave all the trash in their yard. Then, the family went to bed. They were woken up in the middle of the night by their fire detector. Some of the fireworks debris was still hot and started a fire in their garbage, which started a blaze in the garage too. Luckily, the fire department was able to put it out before any major damage happened to the house.
