Edwards Apple Orchard Donates Massive Amount of Apples to Illinois Food Banks
Every year thousands of Illinois families flock to Edwards Apple Orchard in Poplar Grove and Winnebago to enjoy fall treats and fun, but have you ever wondered what happens to all the apples that don't get sold? The answer is way better than you might think!
Reasons to Love Edwards Apple Orchard
It seems like just yesterday that we were counting down the days until Edwards Apple Orchard opened for the fall season, and now the season is already over.
I can still smell the fresh baked cider donuts and taste their delicious fudge and cider. I can still picture the smiles on my kids' faces as they pet the farm animals and play on the playground. I can still see all the adorable fall décor for sale in the barn, and I am still kicking myself for not buying enough donuts to freeze and enjoy all year long.
Edwards Apple Orchard always closes for the season on Thanksgiving weekend, and I've always assumed they sold out of every delicious donut, treat, and apple before that day came. But, I was way wrong.
Edwards Apple Orchard Makes Massive Donation to Local Food Banks
It's no secret that 2025 has been a tough year for many people, and food banks throughout the country are seeing more people in need of food assistance. With more demand comes more need for donations, and Edwards Apple Orchard was there to help in a huge way.
