Is Illinois Winter Coming With First Snow in Weather Forecast?
The first snowfall in the Rockford region usually arrives sometime in early to mid-November. Chicago's average first snow happens by November 16, but it has happened as early as October 12, according to the Weather Channel.
No Chance of Snow in Illinois This Weekend
Weather in the Stateline is going to be mostly sunny with little chance of rain through the weekend and highs in the lower 60s. Temps will stay mild through the middle of next week, according to the Weather Channel forecast.
The current extended forecast for Rockford shows temperatures rising back into the lower 70s by next Tuesday (10/24) before a cold front brings a couple of days of rain and much cooler temperatures.
Chance of Flurries in the Forecast Before Halloween?
According to the 10-day forecast for Rockford, high temperatures will only be in the upper 40s beginning next weekend (10/27-10/29) and lows will dip close to freezing.
The latest forecast for Rockford has a low temperature on Monday, October 30 dropping to 31 with about a 20 percent chance of a rain and snow mix, according to the Weather Channel forecast.

Further north, there's a chance of snow beginning on Sunday, October 29. The Weather Channel says there's a 40 percent chance of rain and snow around Madison, Wisconsin.
