Jack in the Box Returning to Chicago After 40-Year Absence
Jack in the Box is making a comeback in the Chicago area after being away for nearly 40 years.
If you thought Illinois had enough restaurant chains across the state, think again. Jack in the Box, famous for its burgers and tacos, announced they're officially making a return to Chicago.
I'm not totally for it only because I love, love, love local restaurants and businesses, but I know tons of people would be so happy to see another food joint makes its way closer to home.
Though Jack in the Box is a San Diego-based fast food chain, it's looking to open eight new 24-hour restaurants in Chicago and suburbs between 2025 & 2026; Countryside, Lake in the Hills, Tinley Park, Carol Stream, Naperville, Plainfield and New Lenox.
Darin Harris, CEO of Jack in the Box, in a statement, “We’re excited to bring our unique menu where customers can order any item at any time — day or night.”
Nine locations are already operating around Illinois, with the nearest one about four hours away in Litchfield.
What are your thoughts on a ton of Jack in the Box locations coming to the Chicagoland area again? If you're for it, what are you ordering first on the menu?!
Jack in the Box is famous for its burgers, tacos, chicken tenders, sandwiches, and milkshakes. The new locations will provide dine-in, drive-thru, and mobile ordering options for guests.
