Another page flips on the 2020 calendar and along with it comes more restrictions on our fun thanks to that mean witch, COVID-19.

As of Friday, Winnebago and Boone County are now listed at "warning level" for COVID-19 cases, and the State of Illinois is already holding up a stop sign for traditional fun at Fall attractions.

Capacity restrictions for haunted houses and other Fall attractions were already in place, but the State released even more restrictions for Halloween fun on Friday which includes NO hayrides, train rides, inflatables or haunted houses.

When I read that in the news on Friday, I immediately thought, "what does this mean for our annual trip to the Lindberg Pumpkin Patch in Caldedonia this year?"

Before the 2020 season at the Pumpkin Patch even began the Lindberg family had to rethink how to pull off social distancing guidelines throughout their farm. They have implemented an admission price on the weekends (which includes all attractions minus the pony rides), placed a 50% capacity limit on their shops and cafe, attraction ticketing is as contactless as possible, but now they may have to rethink my kids' favorite part of the Pumpkin Patch; the inflatables.

As I sit here and write this, inflatables, (with capacity limits), are still up at the Pumpkin Patch, but I'm guessing they will have to be deflated soon thanks to Illinois' new COVID guidelines.

If your family is planning on a trip to the Lindberg Pumpkin Patch this Fall and you want to know what to expect when you get there, I highly suggest following them on Facebook or giving them a call at 815-765-2587 before you go. COVID guidelines seems to be changing daily, but that doesn't mean the Fall fun has to end, you just have to get more creative with how you will pull it off.
