[UPDATE] Rockford’s Popular Lino’s Pizza Opens 2nd Location in Loves Park
The topic of food gets me excited, when it's about pizza from one of Rockford's best, Lino's, I'm beyond excited. We have more details that you're going to like.
[UPDATE 11/21]
Lino's has confirmed a 2nd location is now open in Loves Park. Scroll down to see the hours of operation and the very exciting news about the menu being offered at this new curbside carryout-only location.
Is Lino's Opening a Location in Lovers Park?
I drove past this big red shipping container/box/train car/whatever on Riverside Blvd, do you see what I see?
That empty space on the red structure in that photo, you can't tell me that isn't the same shape as the big Lino's restaurant sign on E. State St.?
Look! Here's their sign.
It was that curiosity that got the best of me when driving to the radio station at 4:30 this morning. It was very dark, but I had to investigate a little further.
Whatever was going into this red box, they're offering something curbside carryout. And whatever they're offering, they appear to be well-recognized for having some superior pies. (They do, by the way).
So, take a look at what I saw behind this red box.
Boom!
Lino's baby!
Award-winning pizza and world-famous lasagna, you damn right!
[UPDATE 11/22 cont.]
Now that I have confirmation on this new Riverside Blvd location, I can share some other important details, like when they'll be open.
4:30 - 8:00 pm Tuesday - Thursday
4:30 - 9:00 pm Friday and Saturday
News about the menu being offered at this smaller location is the most exciting detail. The Curbside Carryout location has a HUGE menu. Visit Lino's website for a look at the menu. For now, Lino's is accepting only online ordering until they get their systems and processes down.
Now, the bigger question is, what's happening with the building beside this curbside carryout location? The address is 8400 Riverside Blvd, which is just east of Costco, near the Indoor Sports Center/Sportscore 2.
Maybe the red box is temporary and they're building a dine-in restaurant in there. I don't know if that's true but something is happening to that building.
The mystery continues...
I'm definitely going to be one of the first to get a Lino's Pizza Special out of that red box.
