Looks like the ever-expanding marijuana industry continues to find new homes including a spot in Rockford.

I received word earlier this week that a new luxury cannabis edible brand is opening a facility in Rockford.

They call themselves the Bettering Company and they will be located at 2620 Auburn Street.

Apparently, there's also going to be a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, November 8.

According to The Bettering website:

We believe in improving, enhancing, progressing and refining everything we touch. We strive to create not only a better product but also a better company, a better workplace and a better community. We believe in better.

Interestingly, The Bettering Company's gummies are already for sale in Rockford at MapleGlen and the Happy Cannabis Company locations so it appears they will only be making the gummies in Rockford.

Food Dive:

The company said it will use the $11 million it raised to increase sales and finish construction on its 10,000 square-foot production facility in Rockford, Illinois, roughly 90 minutes northwest of Chicago.

The article by Food Dive also addresses the "luxury cannabis" aspect of The Bettering, liking it to the overly crowded vodka field. In an effort to stand out top vodka makers began using higher-quality ingredients to give them a leg up among the competition.

You could say the very same about The Bettering. The high-quality (pun not intended) ingredients in the gummies are being used in an equally crowded space.
