Making Your Own Backyard Hockey Rink
One of the few things that I like about winter is the hockey. Usually football season is over, (sad Bear fan) so I can focus on the only sport that is going on right now and it's hockey. I've always wanted to build a backyard ice-skating rink but never could figure out the right way to do it.
I scoured the internet and found a website that might be helpful. It sounds really easy, it's a ton of PVC pipe, PVC corners and plastic liner. That's it. The cost would be near 300 bucks but it should last you 3 years according to the Instructables website. There is also a pretty handy video. To find the instructions and vid, click here.
If you have any kids or just you yourself would like to get out and do some skating in your own backyard, give it a shot! If you want to see some professional hockey players skating around at Soldier Field register here for the Ultimate Hockey Experience. You have until January 29th to sign up!
