The City of Rockford has created another way to keep kids off the street and out of trouble. And a great way for area kids to express themselves.

The City of Rockford and local police are teaming up with The Center for Nonviolence and Conflict Transformation to make sure kids have a safe place to go. The center works with schools, community groups, and churches to bring peace through training and education, according to wifr.com.

There is already a tech lab that helps kids learn computer literacy skills. They are now adding a Mobile Art Lab in Rockford that will enable kids to express themselves through art and music. The center is hoping that the lab will help the group be able to reach out to more kids in this area.

If you are interested in learning more, helping out by donating, or even signing up to be a volunteer, then you can go to nonviolencect.com to get all of the information you need. Another incredible addition to our community.
