Mother/Daughter Team Placing ‘Kindness Rocks’ All Over Rockford
Every day in the Stateline hundreds of workers put their own health and safety on the line to keep our community running. I simply can't put into words my appreciation for our frontline healthcare workers, grocery store and other essential business employees, and our community leaders who are working tirelessly to help us weather this storm.
I also firmly believe that little acts of kindness make huge statements in times like these, and there's a mother/daughter team that's hard at work displaying inspiration for frontline workers all over the 815.
I saw SwedishAmerican post this on Facebook yesterday, and I immediately needed to know more...
Alesia Morris Kilbarger and her daughter have created a Facebook group called Frontline Inspiration 815 for anyone wanting to join their movement of spreading kindness, and it's amazing to see the difference they have made in just a few few short weeks.
They have already placed "kindness rocks" at Walmarts around town, Home Depot, area nursing homes, the Rockford Police Department and local healthcare facilities, and they're working hard to make even more. This is where you and I come in.
If you would like to paint some rocks to place as inspiration for frontline workers, join the Frontline Inspiration 815 group on Facebook and then send them a message.
If you see these rocks at businesses around Rockford and need some inspiration, feel free to take a rock. The Frontline Inspiration 815 group page says;
Whether you take a rock for inspiration, share a rock for motivation, or leave a rock to help our garden grow, this is the place to share it. Please share with us the importance of giving and the power that a simple rock from a stranger can make on brightening someone’s day.
I love it! Huge thanks to Alesia Morris Kilbarger and her daughter for reminding us that kindness really does matter. I think today looks like a fine day to paint some rocks.
