Everyday.

Everyday I search the web in hopes that I find something new that will aid with helping Liam learn and talk.

Everyday, I await return phone calls from doctors, never to get one.

Everyday I'm put on another long waiting list for him to be seen by a therapist, only to be told it will be months before Liam can be seen.

I refuse to wait any longer!

We do everything we can at home, but there has got to be more...and finally, yesterday...I found it! New hope, new answers, a new way to teach my son!

I made one simple phone call and learned about Hippotherapy. It's a way to receive therapies such as PT, OT or Speech, incorporating a horse in the treatment.

We visited a beautiful place yesterday that has such therapies, and immediately Liam ran to the horses. I've never seen him so curious and so gentle. It was an amazing moment. It was almost like he had an instant bond with those horses.

We had several amazing moments yesterday being on the prairie. Liam was saying things he has never said before! He was actually talking!  It was a miracle. He loved the peaceful environment he was in, thus he was relaxed, and he started speaking. I asked the therapist why at this very moment why he was speaking, and she told me that studies have shown that children who are in nature tend to concentrate, learn and develop more readily.

We saw this instantly yesterday! Of all the research I've done, one simple phone call answered so many questions, and renewed our hope that Liam WILL be the best he can be.

He'll be going once a week to Hippotherapy, and I already know it will help him achieve in ways no one ever expected.

Here are some articles that explain how nature can improve your child's learning and how hippotherapy works.

As always, if you want to share, or comment, feel free to reach me! I would love to hear from you.
