Landscape Waste
Putting landscape and yard waste in a landfill has been illegal since the 90s.
Used Tires
Almost every tire shop offers a disposal service for a small fee. If the tire isn't in awful shape, ask on Facebook if anyone needs a good tire to make a tree swing.
White Goods
In my entire life, I never knew appliances were also referred to as white goods.
Lead Acid Batteries
Your car battery is something you need to be recycling. Find the nearest center, if you're in the Rockford region, Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful (KNIB) is a great place to recycle many items that are illegal to put in the trash at the curb.

Motor Oil
It shouldn't be tough to find an auto service center that will take used (or unneeded) oil.
Household Hazardous Waste
Things like paint, cleaners, oils, pesticides, and batteries.
Universal Wastes
This includes pesticides, equipment containing mercury, lamps, and aerosol cans.
Construction and Demolition Debris
You'll need to get yourself a dumpster service for this one.
Electronics
The list is long here. Computers and smaller servers, monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, fax machines, scanners, TVs, DVD Players, DVD Recorders, VCRs, digital converter boxes, cable receivers, satellite receivers, portable digital music players, and video game consoles.
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency is another great resource if you're unsure how to dispose of any item. The EPA also published a map to find a recycling center near you.
A New Recycling Center is Now Open in South Beloit
The South Beloit Recycle Center, located at 624 Eastern Avenue, is now open, according to wifr.com. Drop off your items from 9 a.m. to noon on the second Saturday of each month. Accepted items include TVs, monitors, electronics, appliances, metals, and textiles. Note that some items may have associated fees. For further details, visit the Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful.
