New Study Reveals the Unofficial State Car of Illinois

An interesting study has revealed that Illinois isn't a fun place to drive; and it might have something to do with the state's love of the minivan.

You probably already know that Illinois has some of the worst roads in the country; especially when it comes to pot holes here in the stateline area alone. According to September's issue of Car and Driver, the Chicagoland area is the second to last in the country for fun driving roads. To qualify as a fun road, it had to be undivided and have at least one curvy section with a speed limit of 45 mph or more. Huh, I'd settle for pot hole and buckle free pavement.

Who needs fun roads, anyway, when your driving a Dodge Caravan? In an unrelated study by Road and Track, people from Illinois love driving 85mph in a 70mph zone in soccer mom style. The Dodge Caravan was purchased at a greater rate than any other car, compared to the national averages.  You're in good company, though; Wisconsin and Missouri also go Caravan crazy.
