One of ‘America’s Most Beautiful’ Places is Close to Rockford
Looking for a quick trip I stumbled upon a list featuring the most beautiful places in America.
Hoping to find a city that was close by, I found myself pleasantly surprised.
CountryLiving's 45 Most Beautiful Places in the US to Add to Your Bucket List Right Now features a spot only 90 minutes from Rockford.
Nestled in Middleton, Wisconsin sits America's Most Beautiful Sunflower Field.
Who doesn't dream of running through a field of sunflowers without a care in the world? The Pope Farm Conservancy has Sunflower Days in the summer so that guests can come and experience their stunning sunflower field during their peak bloom.
Taking a quick scroll through Instagram, it's a perfect spot for wedding, engagement, and modeling photo shoots.
I have yet to make a trip to Middleton to check out the sunflowers at Pope Farm Conservancy, but I did catch an interesting nugget that might inform others' opinions before making a trip from Rockford.
Due to Covid 19, the garden has been planted with corn instead of sunflowers. That must have been a bittersweet decision.
Apparently, there is a yearly event called Sunflower Days in Middleton that appears to have been canceled in 2020.
As of right now, it looks like there haven't been any announcements made regarding the future of the event but if it does come back for 2021, the sunflowers should as well.
