If you bought a cell phone, monitor, laptop, or TV you might be able to get your hands some money for those purchases.

According to NBC Chicago, "Anyone in Illinois who bought TVs, monitors, notebook computers, cell phones, MP3 players and other products that contain liquid crystal display (LCD) screens between 1998 and 2006 may have overpaid, according to a lawsuit filed by (Lisa) Madigan."

The settling defendant companies are Epson, LG, Hitachi, Sharp and others totaling $104M. However, there are a couple of companies that have yet to settle so the lawsuit continues against Samsung, Toshiba and AU Optronics.

The largest offender according to settlement figures is LG who have agreed to payout over $37M in claims.

Advantage News says, "The maximum amount eligible consumers can potentially recover will vary by device, ranging from $270 for a TV to $20 for a small-screen device."

If you bought any of the above electronics during that time period and would like to file a claim you have until October 4, 2016 to file a claim the Illinois LCD Settlement website.
