Part of Highway 20 Shut Down After Alleged Shooting Involving Rockford Police Officer

Breaking this afternoon, a portion of Highway 20 in Rockford was shut down due to a shooting.

Early this afternoon, Eyewitness News reported that a significant area on Highway 20 in Rockford was shut down and now we're getting a bit more of the story.

According to Facebook posts, there was a shooting that involved a Rockford Police Officer that allegedly resulted in the death of the suspect who first shot the gun.

The reports say the gunshot was self-inflicted.
